Speaking of Armenia-Turkey reconciliation, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan should firstly mention that Armenia initiates Armenian-Turkish border opening and establishment of diplomatic relations remembering of Genocide’s recognition. ARF Dashnaktsutyun representative Aghvan Vardanyan told the journalists at September 11 meeting.

According to the politician, otherwise noone in Armenia would believe that sub-committee on historical issues mentioned in Armenian-Turkish Protocols does not stipulate Genocide issue discussion.

“Dashnaktsutyun has never opposed Armenian-Turkish rapprochement. We stand for reconciliation without preconditions,” Vardanyan said. He supposes the establishment of good neighborly relations with Turkey is possible only in case the country recognizes Armenian Genocide and takes further corresponding steps.
ARFD member stated the Party will issue a new reviewed version of Protocols shortly, acceptable for Armenian side. According to Vardanyan, the document as it goes will not be approved by Dashnaktsutyun at the Parliament hearings.

“I am hopeful other MPs will be reasonable and sound enough not to vote for the document as it goes. I do not rule out the possibility the whole Parliament will protest against Protocols’ adoption,” he underlined.

Vardanyan is concerned with the fact that there are no internal political consultations in Armenia stipulated by the Protocols: “Neither a single politician made sensible statements on the matter, nor serious discussions amid Armenian society are held.”
