U.S. calls all UN member states to accelerate their efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, the new draft resolution on nuclear disarmament issued September 11 by U.S. delegation amid UN Security Council members.

The resolution is to be passed at the forthcoming September 24 open meeting of the UN Security Council, first time presided by the U.S. President Barack Obama.

According to U.S. permanent representative to the UN Susan Rice, the session will be particularly focused on nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament on the whole.
