On September 12, 2009 the South Lebanon residents got a warning that Israel intends to retaliate upon the enemy due to artillery attacks on its northern borders.

On September 11, two jet-powered rockets burst on the open border area near Israel, launched from South Lebanon. According to the Lebanese Army representatives, rockets were launched from Tira, Lebanon. No victims were reported. Merely the electric main was destroyed, “Gaarets” newspaper informs.

Soon after the incident it was decided to get all the Northern military units of northern border fully operational. According to the spread information, presently local authorities are getting ready for a retaliatory strike.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gabriela Shalev made a complaint against the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and United Nations Security Council (UNSC) President saying that yesterday’s rocket attack proves Lebanese side broke UNSC resolution, Ynet Israeli website reads.

UN Secretary General condemned the attack on Israeli territory and called the sides to exercise maximum restraint.
