Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov intends to visit Iran shortly after the Ramadan Holy Month, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mamedbagir Bahrami stated at the September 15 press conference in Baku, Azerbaijani Trend News reports.

According to the Ambassador, The purpose of the visit is discussion bilateral and regional cooperation prospects. The accommodation on visit was reached during the phone conversation between two countries’ Foreign Ministers.

At the meeting with journalists, Bahrami talked about informal summit of Caspian Sea States in Aktau that took place without Iran’s participation: “The Caspian legal status cannot be determined without participation of all five Caspian states.”
Iranian Ambassador also expressed his discontent with the current level of bilateral trade. “The commodity turnover in 2008 reached U.S. $670m. This index is lower than the total potential of two countries.”
