Military parade on 19th anniversary of the Republic was held in Tskhinval, South Ossetia. Eduard Kokoity — President of the Republic, Moldavian President Igor Smirnov, NKR Foreign Minister Georgy Petrosyan, Nicaragua Ambassador to Russia, and RF constituent territory delegations greeted the participants from the platform. The Defense Ministry units, KGB Border services and South Ossetia SWAT participated in the parade.

S. Ossetia President Eduard Kokoity declared the country intends to develop foreign policy and strive for strengthening of international security. “Along with solution to the internal problems, we plan to enliven the foreign policy. Knowing the worth of peace and liberty, we will develop equal and mutually beneficial relations with near and far abroad, and back any steps aiming at reinforcement of international security,” S. Ossetia Ministry of Press and Mass Communications informs.

Kokoity emphasized S. Ossetia is open for cooperation with international community, calling Georgian leadership to listen to reason in terms of current developments to recognize independence of S. Ossetia and Abkhazia. “I am confident its is an uneasy and steadfast decision will serve the interests’ of out two nations, as well as the formation of stable, just, neighborly and safe system of relations throughout Caucasian region,” he stated.
