Azerbaijani opposition cannot take the floor in the Parliament as is extremely weak, MP Zahid Oruj told in the interview with Azerbaijani Zerkalo daily.

“It is uneasy to speak definitely of the opposition’s activities. The matter is oppositional activity does not implicate mere speeches in the Parliament. It is wide notion,” Oruj stated.

According to him, there are both “platform heroes” and those wishing to see democracy in the country amid the oppositionists. “Personally, I consider that discussion between opposition and authorities should be civilized, inside the Parliament — not in the streets,” Oruj underlined.

On the whole the MP undervalues the oppositional doings in the Parliament, pointing out that only several MPs exhibit activity at the sessions, concluding: “Eventually, the governing party dominates in the Parliament.”
