According to the latest information, since 2007 the Turkish authorities have blocked access to over 6,000 most popular websites, reported ruformator.ru. Since November 2007, when a law to control cyber-crimes was adopted in Turkey, access to numerous popular sites has been blocked in the country. Among them are YouTube, Geocities, DailyMotion, WordPress, Google Groups and Google Sites.
In their turn, the Turkish authorities reported that the access to 2,126 websites has been blocked since 2007. In 475 cases court verdicts were returned. As regards the other sites, the Turkish Communications demanded that they be blocked.
