·       Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a 30-year-old midfielder of the Armenian national team and Arsenal, has undergone a medical examination at Villa Stuart private hospital in Rome.

After passing the medical examination, the captain of the Armenian national team signed a one-year lease deal with Roma.

The captain of the Armenian national team will receive 3-5 million euros per season, not counting bonuses, calciomercato.com said earlier.

Roma will be able to redeem the rights to a football player for 15 million euros during the next summer transfer window. The English club will receive four million euros for the player.

The current deal between Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Arsenal is set to expire in the summer of 2021.

·       Three Armenian nationals were injured as passenger van traveling from Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to Batumi, crashed in Georgia Saturday at about 3 am.

Three Armenian nationals injured in a car accident in Georgia have been transported to Yerevan, the Armenian health ministry said on Sunday.

One of them is critical, while another one is in satisfactory condition, spokesperson for Armenian Health Ministry Alina Nikoghosyan wrote on Facebook. The third person was discharged.

Three cars collided on the Guguti-Marneuli highway on Saturday, and a passenger van traveling from Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to Batumi was one of them.

Two people were killed and 19 others were injured. Two Armenia nationals are still in hospitals in Georgia.

·       Iran's Ambassador to Armenia Kazem Sajjadi said that President Rouhani will visit Yerevan in the coming weeks upon invitation of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, Mehr agency reported.

"Armenian Prime Minister has invited President Rouhani to visit Armenia and accordingly, the Iranian President will pay a visit to the country in the coming weeks," Sajjadi said on Sunday.

·       The dead body of an about a 1.5-year-old girl was found Saturday at around 2 pm, in a trash can in Gyumri, in Shirak Province of Armenia. He noted that there were no traces of violence on the child’s body, but adhesive tapes were wrapped around her hands and feet. Police clarified the identity of the child and found her mother at around 7 pm the same day. The mother of a one-year-old girl found dead has been detained.

·       On Monday, September 2, 2019, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is celebrating the 28th anniversary of the declaration of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

On September 2, 1991, a joint meeting of the deputies of the provincial and Shahumyan regional councils was held in Artsakh’s capital city of Stepanakert, where the declaration of the NKR was adopted.

"Glory to the heroic people of Artsakh," said the Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan. "Glory to the united and triumphant Armenian people."

According to Karabakh President, “on 2 September 1991, our people translated into reality their long-cherished dream; that is, to determine their future, live freely and independently in their homeland, preserve and nurture national values and traditions, retain their faith and language.”

Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan also took part Monday at the festive events marking the 28th anniversary of the Artsakh Republic independence proclamation.

Armenia’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan, on Monday issued a congratulatory message on the 28th anniversary of the declaration of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.

"28 years ago, Artsakh chose its steady course and made that irrevocable decision, sensing in its back the strength of the unity of thousands of Armenians," the message reads, in part. "In no case should we allow disruption of pan-Armenian unity in the Artsakh issue."
