Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Zaruhi Batoyan has filed a lawsuit against member of the Kamq (Will) NGO Aram Khanzadyan, as reported Datalex judicial information system.

The minister demands that the court bind Aram Khanzadyan to publicly apologize to her and levy money from him.

In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Batoyan’s attorney Tatevik Sargsyan refused to say why Batoyan has sued Khanzadyan, saying she hasn’t received her client’s consent.

The statement of claim was submitted on September 2, and the case has been inscribed to Judge Tigran Grigoryan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan and members of Kamq (Will) NGO were involved in an incident during the discussion on the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) on August 6. According to the minister, the members of the NGO behaved improperly and publicly offended her at the end of the meeting.
