The rotation principle for ambassadors is enshrined by law and is valid. Of course, there have been exceptions since there was an opportunity for exceptions. This is what Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan told journalists at the National Assembly today.

“You can find out for yourself. Just take a look at how many ambassadors have been replaced after 2018. This is an ongoing process,” he said.

As far as the efforts of ambassadors to engage foreign investments are concerned, Shavarsh Kocharyan said the following: “It’s natural that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tracks and assessing the work of every diplomat. As far as the economic component is concerned, this is very important, and now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy are working together to make the foreign component in the country’s economic policy more effective, and as a result, there may be new approaches. This is still in progress since it has to be presented to the government.”
