September 27, multi-thousand crowd gathered in Pelanconi Park and adjoining streets to hold a rally against Armenia-Turkey protocols in Glendale (northern suburb of Los Angeles), where Armenian community resides, GlendaleNews Press reports.

Signing the Protocols on cultivating diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia, as well as mutual cooperation are mentioned in “roadmap”. The documents should be submitted for the ratification in Parliaments of the two countries.

The Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party and the Unified Young Armenians organized the event.

Armenians all over California as well as neighboring states came to participate. 37 buses brought people from L.A, while the traffic in the surrounding streets was suspended and the police regained control over them. The protesters howled defiance against the Protocols considering them unfair for Armenia.

“Don’t give in to Turkey,” “Stand up and fight until the end” they sang in Armenian.

The most disputable provision in the protocols is the creation of historians’ sub-commission, that questions the fact of the Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, the source outlines.
