The New York Times, referring to Reuters agency informed that one of the U.S. high rank officials stated the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would not like Armenia-Turkey Protocols’ signing to be disturbed by Armenia’s ‘nationalist’ demands to recognize 1915 Genocide. Nor she wishes to hear of demands by some Turks for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.

Clinton called on Armenia and Turkey to carry out the pledge to normalize relations within a reasonable timeframe. U.S. Secretary of State said that Washington backs Armenia-Turkey reconciliation.

Hillary Clinton will attend the signing ceremony of Armenia-Turkey normalization Protocols scheduled October 10 in Zurich, NZZ online reports. That day Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers will arrive in Switzerland. Participation of Clinton is not yet confirmed, however the hotel reservation is made.
