The international process on Armenian Genocide recognition cannot be suspended with Armenia-Turkey Protocols signing, as its priority is stipulated in the RA Declaration of Independence in 1991, RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said at the first Parliament hearings on Oct. 1.

According to him, the Protocols are considered a positive step giving a start to the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Parliament hearings on Armenia-Turkey relations could be initiated earlier, Hovik Abrahamyan outlined.

Starting October 1, 2009 hearings on Armenia-Turkey Protocols commence also in Turkish Parliament.
