Turkish President Abdullah Gul made a verbose statement in Turkish Parliament. He underlined the priority of democratic development of Turkey, resulted in joining EU.

Gul concluded his speech, presenting a report on foreign policy objectives. The President called on MPs to undertake necessary steps on European integration and acceleration of reforms. Abdullah Gul “praised Turkey’s positive contribution to the regional stability in the wake of the crisis in the Middle East, Balkans and Caucasus and vowed to continue pro-active policies related to Cyprus and Armenia reconciliation process,” Turkish Hurriyet daily reports.
