President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has extended the state of emergency for three more months, reports Sky News Arabia.

The police and army have been assigned to follow the regime of state of emergency.

Last week, the Egyptian parliament agreed to make amendments to the law on the state of emergency.

Egypt has reported 4,500 coronavirus cases and 300 deaths, and 1,200 patients have recovered.
