The Azerbaijani President should have known long ago that, under international law, it is peoples, not nations, that exercise their right to self-determination, RA Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan said, commenting on Ilham Aliyev’s statement that the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians have no right to independence.
“Otherwise, according to the theory he inherited from his father along with his chair – Turks and Azerbiajanis are one nation – Azerbaijan had no right to independence,” Sh. Kocharyan said.
