Turkey tried to enhance its reputation at all stages of the Armenia-Turkey reconciliation, the head of Heritage parliamentary faction Stepan Safaryan told NEWS.am, commenting on a statement by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan. Earlier Babacan stated that Ankara is drafting a schedule of ratifying the Armenian-Turkish Protocols.
Safaryan believes the statement is Ankara’s new attempt to enhance its reputation. However, neither Armenia nor the international community “owes anything to Turkey.”
Armenia suspended the ratification process of the Protocols, as Ankara constantly protracted consideration of the documents in the Turkish parliament.
