PACE Bureau will not send observers to the parliamentary elections in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu stated in Yerevan on May 14. According to him, PACE’s principle is not to send observers to frozen conflict zones.

Earlier Speaker of NKR National Assembly Ashot Ghulyan appealed to the PACE President for sending observers to Karabakh.

NKR parliamentary elections will take place on May 23. The country’s authorities want to inform the international community of free and fair elections in contrast to the ongoing processes in Azerbaijan.
