"I repeatedly stated today Russia and Turkey solve a long-term issue on strategic cooperation, in which Armenia is unfortunately a subsidiary coin, RA Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan stated at the May 18 press conference referring to RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Turkey. According to him, the history shows when Ottoman Empire and Russia agreed on some issues, as a rule Armenians and neighbor nations suffered. In this regard, Arzumanyan considers Russia-Turkey rapprochement alarming. “We have unresolved issues. Armenia is blockaded by both sides and presently Russia speaks of the establishment of strategic relations with these two countries,” he said pointing out the South Stream project.
According to him, the sides will announce the reached agreements on the project till October. Arzumanyan recalled the statements by Russian and Turkish sides on the consolidation of South Stream and Nabucco projects in future.
