Azerbaijan and Turkey started to make demarches to change the format of Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the Chairman of the New Times Party Aram Karapetyan told NEWS.am commenting on the current stage of Karabakh conflict settlement. Turkey and Azerbaijan stance aims at the swift resolution of Karabakh conflict. “Both Azerbaijan and Turkey see the conflict settlement is unlikely within OSCE MG in the near future and start to present demarches and pursue blackmailing policy. In this context, I do not rule out resumption of &‘dramatized’ hostilities to achieve the goal,” Karapetyan said.

According to the proposals by Turkish and Azerbaijani side, regional states, particularly Iran and Turkey should be included in the peace process, he noted. However, according to him, Armenia will not agree to this format. “We are to be blamed for the changes in peace process format, as Armenia brought Turkey to the region.” He considers it is no mere chance that the issue on PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh is presently being discussed, as the PACE President is a Turk by origin. “Presently PACE President blackmails OSCE Minsk Group: Karabakh conflict should be settled, otherwise Azerbaijani side moves the issue to another format,” Karapatyan stressed

As reported previously, during his visit to Armenia on May 12-14, PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu said he is not the initiator of the re-establishment of PACE Subcommittee on Karabakh.
