The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine revealed discriminatory taxation of Ukrainian tobacco products in Armenian and Mongolia. Kiev plans to resolve the conflict by means of the World Trade Organization. Earlier, Ukraine was able to defend its interests in Georgia by means of the WTO mechanisms, Kommersant-Ukraine reports.

According to the source, Armenia fixed the discriminatory excise rate on the imported tobacco products. The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy started informal consultations with Armenia. Ukraine is ready to conduct similar consultations on excise rate with Mongolia, Lenta.ru informs.

In the case of Georgia the excise rate on imported tobacco products was 1.5 times higher than that on domestic tobacco products. The Georgian Parliament made a decision to establishing a single excise rate in November 2009.
