The Government’s sitting on May 20, RA Premier Tigran Sargsyan demanded that government officials should be consistent in their actions, underlining their importance for increasing Armenia’s economic growth in 2011.

The premier said anti-crisis measures had an obvious positive effect and economic growth, as well as industry, is increasing. Therefore the Government has to take further steps. The Premier informed the Government members that the negotiations with the IMF have been completed, and the economic team has to revise its macroeconomic forecasts.

The Government has to focus its efforts on measures to ensure high growth in 2011-2012.

Earlier, IMF representatives stated they had revised their forecast, stressing that GDP growth will reach 4% in Armenia in 2010 end. The IMF’s previous forecast was 1.8%, whereas budgeted GDP growth is 1.2%.
