The Armenian authorities’ inactivity is the reason for the European Parliament’s anti-Armenian resolution, the Heritage faction MP and member of EU inter-parliamentary delegation Larisa Alaverdyan told journalists on May 21.

Such a ridiculous decision is the result of distortion of facts by Azerbaijan and Armenia’s inactivity as well, she said. Chairman of the Heritage parliamentary faction Stepan Safaryan noted that they intend to address EU agencies, as the resolution is unacceptable. “They prefer their oil interests to Nagorno-Karabakh’s security,” Safaryan added.

A draft report prepared by Evgeni Kirilov contains a call “to abandon the tendency to prefer perpetuating the status quo created through military conquests” and “abandon the positions that Nagorno-Karabakh includes all Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani lands.”
