The anti-Armenian resolution by the European Parliament is the result of the Armenia-Turkey reconciliation process, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Artsvik Minasyan told a briefing.

He deems that Armenian diplomacy has to pass a long way to improve relations with European agencies. Artsvik Minasyan proposes the following scenarios to overcome consequences of the resolution: Armenia should withdraw its signature from the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, should not permit any discussion of the Karabakh conflict out of the OSCE Minsk Group format and has to resettle the security zone around Nagorno-Karabakh. However, Minasyan believes that Yerevan has not duly responded to the document. He pointed out that Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) Committees worked to get the especially strong wordings removed from the document.

A draft report prepared by Evgeni Kirilov contains a call “to abandon the tendency to prefer perpetuating the status quo created through military conquests” and “abandon the positions that Nagorno-Karabakh includes all Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani lands.”
