On May 23, NKR Parliament Speaker Ashot Ghulyan participated in the voting of in the May 23 parliamentary elections. “I have voted for a new parliament, led by professionals,” Ghulyan told journalists. According to him, the former parliamentarians also performed their duties at a high level. He welcomed international observers’ keen interest in the parliamentary elections. Ghulyan expressed hope that the observers will make a high appraisal of the elections thereby confirming the NKR’s right to international recognition.

According to him, NKR Parliament is a good platform for debating the issue. He reminded the journalists that the Parliament held a number of hearings on the Karabakh conflict, expressing hope that the newly-formed Parliament will uphold the tradition.

“Some day Azerbaijan will put up with the fact that Nagorno-Karabakh has resolved all its problems by itself since 1991,” Ghulyan said commenting on Azerbaijan’s criticism.
