May 24, the permanent mission of Azerbaijan to UN received a letter from the UN Headquarters in New York, presenting Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s position concerning May 23 parliamentary elections in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

According to Trend News, the letter says that the UN is not involved in the May 23 parliamentary elections in NKR.

In his letter Ban Ki-moon noted the recent dynamics of Karabakh peace process based on the proposals of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, expressing hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will manage to use this possibility and achieve progress in the process of the conflict settlement.
