Armenian diplomacy must do its best to prevent a Bulgarian delegate, representing the Turkish and Azeri lobbies, from preparing a report on the South Caucasus, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, RA Parliament, member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) (ARFD), Armen Rustamyan told a press conference.
According to him, from the outset he was well aware the Bulgarian delegate’s report would not be unbiased. He wrote a letter to the Socialist Leader in the European Parliament. Rustamyan stressed that the Armenian lobby and the Armenian Embassy in Brussels spared no efforts to prevent such a report, but failed. “But I would like to note that the initial wording of the resolution was much worse than the final wording. Nevertheless, the resolution still contains provisions unacceptable to the Armenian side, as they pose a threat to further developments in the region and, particularly in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone,” Rustamyan said. He underlined the necessity for forming a special parliamentary delegation, which would visit Brussels and hold a meeting with the European Parliament leaders to explain to them the threats contained in the resolution and propose amendments to it.
