Zahir Kandasoglu, Head of the Commerce and Iindustry Chamber in Van, Turkey, believes the Armenian-Turkish border should be reopened as soon as possible, without mixing business with policy.
At a press conference Zahir Kandasoglu shared his impressions of his visit to Armenia where he participated in the International Tourism Fair held in Yerevan, May 14-15. He noted that a 40-member group of businessmen was the first group of Van businessmen to visit Armenia. Zahir Kandasoglu emphasized that businessmen are not interested in what happened in the past, they just want to trade, earn money and develop tourism. After the border with Igdir has been opened, there will be no obstacles to tourism development in the Eastern part of Turkey, he said. Zahir Kandasoglu stressed that there is a serious market in Armenia and the opening of the border is highly important.
May 13, the Yerevan and Van commerce and industry chambers signed a memorandum on cooperation.
