May 26, RA President Serzh Sargsyan met with European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Olli Rehn. The sides discussed EU’s macrofinancial assistance to Armenia, development of the Armenia-EU trade and economic ties, RA Presidential press service informed NEWS.am. The sides also addressed the talks over a free trade agreement with the EU, as well as the EU’s possible technical assistance to the ongoing financial reforms in Armenia.

The same day, Serzh Sargsyan met with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and the European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule. The sides discussed a wide range of issues concerning Armenia’s European integration, as well as the signing of an association agreement with the South Caucasian states. The RA President noted that Armenia is responsibly preparing for the talks. The sides also touched upon the relaxation of visa requirements for RA citizens.
