The key to the resolution of the Karabakh conflict was and is in Arsakh, the Heritage parliamentary faction member Larisa Alaverdyan told journalists May 27, commenting on NKR former Foreign Minister Armen Melikyan’s statement that key to the settlement is in Yerevan. According to her, Yerevan has keys at its disposal, without, however, using them.

“Even the houses of many people open with two keys. Such a complicated conflict will hardly be resolved with one key,” she said.

Referring to the PACE Resolution #2216 adopted on May 20, which demands the withdrawal of Armenian forces from the liberated areas, Alaverdyan said it will affect the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and the final decision.

According to her, the resolution was drafted incompetently from the legal point of view, is of political nature and is not legally binding.
