A Georgian delegation headed by Prime Minister Nika Gilauri arrived on a working visit to Yerevan on May 28 to participate in the 8th sitting of the Armenian-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.
The sitting was preceded by a meeting of the Armenian and Georgian Premiers. The two states’ Premiers chaired the Commission’s sitting, which approved a protocol.
The Commission discussed the implementation of decision made at its previous sitting in Tbilisi, December 9, 2008, as well as the present state and development of legal underpinnings for bilateral agreements, trade and economic cooperation, etc.. The Commission also discussed the demarcation of the Armenian-Georgian border.
The Armenian and Georgian Premiers signed protocols approved by the Commission. The Electric Network of Armenia CJSC and the Georgian State Energy System Ltd signed an agreement on constructing a 400kw power line.
The Commission decided to hold its 9th sitting in Tbilisi. RA Prime minister gave an official dinner in the honor of the Georgian delegation.
