We continue to have a stable, calm situation. Minister of health Anahit Avanesyan said this at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting of the government—and referring to the current coronavirus pandemic situation in Armenia.

"The vaccination process [against COVID-19] is also underway. We have had a vaccination of 722,409 citizens with the second dose and 946,984—with the first dose. Booster shots are also being administered. And we urge the citizens who were vaccinated six months ago to get the third dose, too" Avanesyan added.

PM Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted that there is a good situation in Armenia in terms of the coronavirus pandemic.

"But let us record that if we do not continue the vaccinations properly, the crisis will inevitably return. Especially at this moment, no Omicron-type variant has been registered in Armenia. But that also is inevitable, and I have a hard time imagining how it can happen that this variant does not enter Armenia. Therefore, if we do not continue the vaccination process at the same pace, we will face a crisis. All types of [COVID-19] vaccines are available in Armenia," Pashinyan said.
