Yerevan City Hall will buy new waste sorting bins, increase number of cleaners,

"There are problems in the field of sanitary cleaning in Yerevan," Kamo Areyan, Advisor to Yerevan Municipality, said at a meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan on Tuesday.

Garbage bins and containers, according to him, are enough, but there is no appropriate education not to throw garbage in the wrong place. “In fact, the city needs more than 1 million cleaners, because, figuratively speaking, every city resident needs to be cleaned up,” he added.

Areyan explained that 14 million square meters of the city's territory is cleaned manually, and taking into account the above, the number of vacancies for cleaners will increase at the expense of the saved funds of the capital.

“There will be 500 cleaners in total. The salary is 150 thousand drams minus taxes. There are many people who want to get this job,” the official said.
