Today in the framework of return match of the first qualification round Mika drew with Swedish Helsingborg (1:1) and on aggregate was out of European League (the former UEFA Cup). Helsingborg won the first match (3:1) in Sweden a week ago. Samvel Darbinyan’s team had to score just two goals to slip into the next round, and even Serzh Sargsyan and Hovik Abrahamyan’s presence did not help.

Mika created several clear chances in the first half, but either Armen Petrosyan or Boti Demel failed to score. Helsingborg showed their teeth and if they were more accurate they would score in the first half. However they used all chances to score the goal in the second half when Muzola Makondele beat the goalkeeper Artur Harutyunyan. The home team could draw 8 minutes before the match end. The referee pointed out the penalty spot and Brazilian legionary Ednei hit the target.

Today another Armenian football club Banants (Yerevan) will play the second leg match with Široki Brijeg from Bosnia. Banants have poor chances to slip into the second round as they lost the first round match 0:2.
