Taking into account post-election situation in Iran, one should not expect high-level and efficient Iran-US negotiations. David Hovhannisyan, the Former Armenian Ambassador to Syria told NEWS.am on 11 July.

The expert supposes current policy, imposing the authorities of two countries to take the right steps, will lead eventually to the initiation of negotiations. The Iranian Government should make a firm statement they are not intended to create nuclear weapons in order to start Iran-US negotiations.

As to the 2008 August war in South Ossetia, expert considers US and EU keep supporting Georgia, but meanwhile pursuing “denouncing and wait-and-see policy” in respect of Russia.

The recent Russia-NATO summit proved, the influence of August war on the relations of Russia with NATO, EU and US is either neutralized or not that significant.
