YEREVAN. – On December 9 of the year past, Azerbaijan withdrew from voting in UN General Assembly’s 64th session its yet another anti-Armenian draft resolution, which it had submitted for discussion, Azg daily writes.  

“This draft resolution, entitled “Protection of International Humanitarian and International Norms of Human Rights in Azerbaijan’s Occupied Territories,” had already become known in early July 2010.  And this year a point, entitled “The Situation in Azerbaijan’s Occupied Territories,” is included in UN General Assembly agenda, and it is planned to be discussed during the plenary session. But this matter will most likely be withdrawn or postponed, this time as well. First and foremost, this can be explained by the fact that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group’s co-chairing countries are against the Karabakh issue’s discussion at UN. This is not encouraged and considered as an obstruction of the peace process. And the fact that Azerbaijan has again picked up that paper and appeared in UN General Assembly halls, shows that Azerbaijan does not understand that very well, or those who are explaining are unsuccessful,” Azg daily writes.
