Georgia is interested in developing and deepening of relations with Armenia. This was stated by visiting Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze after the meeting with his Armenian colleague, Nikol Pashinyan, in Yerevan Thursday.

"This partnership is very important for the entire region in terms of security, prosperity, and sustainable development.

The holding of the next session of the [Armenian-Georgian] intergovernmental commission is of great importance for achieving common goals within the framework of the strategic partnership. There are special relations between our [two] countries, which is determined not only by geography. Our partnership is deeply rooted in the centuries-old relations between the two countries and peoples.

Georgia is ready to contribute to peace and stability in the region, which is a prerequisite for its prosperity," the Georgian PM added.

Also, he stressed the importance of respect for each other’s strategic interests, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, and thanked the Armenian side for the words expressed in favor of Georgia’s territorial integrity, inviolability, and sovereignty.

“Our economic relations are also important, and we are pleased with the trends. These relations have potential for development, and we have discussed the possibilities of using this potential,” Kobakhidze noted, and invited Pashinyan to visit Georgia.
