YEREVAN. – Adoption of the bill criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide by the French parliament will not weaken its role as a mediator in the Karabakh peace process, head of the Armenian Cause (Hay Dat) ARF Dashnaktsutyun Giro Manoyan told the journalists on Friday.

According to him, Azerbaijan will not take steps to support Turkey and will not attempt to put into suspicion France’s authority as a mediator in the Karabakh process.

“Regarding the Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijan will not look towards the OSCE Minsk Group but rather to the UN Security Council, the member of which it has been elected before. Baku will do its best to transfer the conflict settlement into this format. Thus, we can tell our French colleagues that any undesirable changes in this regard are not expected,” Manoyan concluded.
