Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Samvel Shahramanyan is currently being questioned at the Military Investigation General Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, his lawyer Roman Yeritsyan told 24News.

Shahramanyan is being questioned as part of a criminal case that was opened under the Armenian Criminal Code articles on "official military negligence" and "handing over or leaving the means of waging war to the adversary."

The Artsakh president is a witness in this criminal case, which was opened back in 2023, but only two years later is Samvel Shahramanyan being questioned for the first time.

This criminal case was opened based on statements made by Samvel Babayan—the former Minister of Defense and former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh—on the air of the Public Television of Armenia and a report submitted by him.
