The process of issuing visas to Armenian citizens by the European Union (EU) member states is truly worrying. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during the debates on the report on the implementation of the 2024 state budget of Armenia at Thursday’s joint meeting of the standing committees of the parliament.

“We [i.e. Armenia] regularly draw the attention of our colleagues who are present in Yerevan from EU member states to this issue,” said the FM.

According to him, various arguments—from technical to financial—are being made.

“However, there are particular cases that we recognize. However, for the most part, we have no objections. These are their procedures, and, ultimately, this is their decision,” the Armenian FM added.

But Mirzoyan acknowledged the legitimacy of the problem. He believes that the best solution is to complete the EU visa liberalization process, and Armenia must contribute to it.
