US President Donald Trump told reporters that he is “very disappointed” in billionaire Ilon Musk after the tech mogul repeatedly publicly criticized the Trump-backed Republican package over predictions it would increase the budget deficit, NBC News reported. 

“I'm very disappointed in Elon,” Trump said. - I've been very supportive of Elon.”

Trump also said that Musk “knew the inner workings of this bill better than anyone here.”

The US president said Musk “only ran into a problem when he found out we were going to have to reduce the use of electric vehicles,” referring to electric cars. 

On Tuesday, Musk called Trump's bill to cut federal spending an “abomination”. He also pointed out that under the bill, the U.S. budget deficit would rise to $2.5 trillion and American citizens would face unsustainable debt.
