Israeli military strikes on Tehran have claimed the lives of at least six Iranian nuclear scientists, Tasnim reported.

Initial reports of the Israeli military attack indicate that the strike killed six Iranian nuclear scientists, namely Abdolhamid Minochehr, Ahmad Reza Zolfaqari, Seyed Amir Hossein Feki, Matlabizadeh, Mohammad Mahdi Tehranchi and Fereydoun Abbasi.

Feki taught at the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Tehran's Shahid Beheshti University. He was also the deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Matlabizadeh reportedly died along with his wife. Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Major General Hossein Salami and Commander of Iran's Central Headquarters in Khatam al-Anbiya Major General Gholam Ali Rashid were among other officials killed in the strikes on Friday morning. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned Israel that it will be severely punished for the strike and “has prepared for itself a bitter, agonizing fate that it will surely see.”
