Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has moved to a bunker in the Lavizan district northeast of Tehran, two sources in the Islamic Republic informed, reports Iran International.

According to them, this happened a few hours after the Israeli strikes on the morning of June 13. All members of Khamenei's family are with him.

One diplomat claims that the Iranian leader could have been killed on the first night of the Israeli military operation, but he was left alive so that he could make a decision on reducing Iran's nuclear enrichment program.

With the start of the Israeli airstrikes, Khamenei once again got the opportunity to order the reduction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, based on a realistic assessment of Israel's military capabilities, Iran International notes.

The Israeli strikes are a warning that Khamenei will not be safe anywhere in Iran.
