The awarding ceremony of the Golden Globe – an award given by Hollywood foreign press association (HFPA) was given in U.S. last night.

“The Descendants” by Alexander Peyn won the best drama of 2011 award. Martin Scorsese received the best director award for “Hugo” movie.

George Clooney was named the Best Actor, while Meryl Streep won the expected Best Actress award for her role in “The Iron Lady”.

“Artist:” directed by Michel Hazanavicius, which has already had a whole bunch of awards in 2011, received the award as the Best Comedy or Musical.

“The Adventures of Tintin” animation was awarded the Best Animation movie, while the Best Foreign Language movie was named Iranian “A Separation.”

A special prize went to actor Morgan Freeman, Lenta.ru informs.
