US President Trump defended FBI Director Kash Patel, noting that law enforcement officials are conducting a thorough investigation into the murder of Charlie Kirk, CNN reports.

“Kash, look at what he did to this terrible man he just caught. He did it in two days,” Trump said. 

The US president added that he retains confidence in “everyone in the administration,” calling it “the best administration ever formed.”

Today, Patel is testifying on Capitol Hill, where he is being questioned about his leadership of the FBI, including his decision to prematurely announce that the agency had arrested a suspect in Kirk's murder, a statement he had to retract a few hours later. 

Speaking to reporters before his departure for the UK, Trump also defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying she had done an “incredible job.”

Earlier this week, Bondi came under fire for suggesting that the administration would prosecute people for “hate speech,” which drew negative reactions from both sides.
