RA President Serzh Sargsyan issued a decree to set up an emergency response centre for inquest into the cause of the air crash. RA Vice PM and Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan is assigned Head of the centre. It will collect data and coordinate governmental decisions.

President Sargsyan has cut short his visit to Spitak of Lori region and returned to Yerevan once he was informed on the air crash.

TU-154 of Caspian 7908 flight crashed 16 minutes after its takeoff at 8 kilometers’ height in Jannatabad village of Qazvin province, about 120km north-west of Tehran taking lives of 168 people. Fire at the spot has been extinguished and smoldering bodies were retrieved.
