Israeli-Hamas talks on exchange of prisoners were hindered. Hamas claims that some top militants should be freed in return for Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit, Haaretz reports.

According to the source, the deal is unlikely to be made in the near future.

It appears that Israel should decide whether to release the prisoners included in the Hamas list or not. The alternative list was already submitted and is studied by Hamas members, the daily reports referring to AP.

Gilad Shalit was seized in June 2006 by Gaza militants.
