Armenian foreign trade turnover reduced by 31% in Jan.-Oct., 2009 compared with the same period in 2008. The overall export rate dropped by 51.8%, whereas import – by 35.6%, RA national statistical service informs NEWS.am. Statistical service publicized macroeconomic indicators, describing socio-economic situation in Armenia as of Jan.-Oct., 2009.
Thus, Armenia’s foreign trade turnover based on current prices made AMD 1128.7bn or U.S.$3121.6bn, whereas the export reached AMD 200.6bn (U.S. $551.6m) and import – AMD 928.1bn (U.S. $2570m).
Armenia’s foreign trade balance is at deficit totaling AMD 727.5bn ($2018.4m.) and not accounting humanitarian aid – it hits AMD 713.8bn (AMD 1981.2m).
