YEREVAN. - The rally of Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian (ORO) bloc has kicked off in Liberty Square of downtown Yerevan on Tuesday (PHOTOS).

According to Armenian News - NEWS.am reporter, many of the protestors are holding the flags of the bloc, while others have in their hands the photos of foreign Karabakh defense minister Samvel Babayan, who was arrested several days ago. Still others have come to the rally with banners reading “Free Samvel Babayan”and shirts depicting him.

Leader of the bloc Seyran Ohanyan, Chairman of Consolidation Party Vartan Oskanian,, Chairman of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian and Deputy Chairman Armen Martirosyan, as well as representatives of Alliance of Freedom Fighters are on the tribune.

Armen Martirosyan, who leads the rally, announced that this is actually the final rally in the Liberty Square. “A rally, which the authorities tried to prevent with unlawful actions but never managed to.”

“We had very bad campaign, black campaign, violence, shootings, Jrarat due to the illegalities of the authorities,” he noted.

According to Martirosyan, the first step ORO will make once it is in power will be the release of all the political prisoners, including Sasna Tsrer armed group. “Currently, there are various citizens in prisons, who have been given lengthy sentences for petty offenses, unlike the budget looters, who are on the loose. Deep and comprehensive amnesty with the observation of legal procedures in very short period,” he said.
