Resident of Armenia’s Chambarak border village Pavlik Kirakosyan has been named the winner of Sheep Shearing Festival 2017 held in Khot village of Syunik province (photos).
The winner was handed a certificate of honor and a horse saddle as a prize.
The representatives of the country’s seven provinces took part in the competition and were handed certificates of honor as well.
The idea of the festival belongs to Honorary Consul of Norway in Armenia and Founder of Homeland Development Initiative Foundation, Timothy Straight.
Within the framework of the festival, the adjacent villages of Tatev presented their traditional food, as well as handicraft with sheep images and symbols.
The festival has been held in Armenia for already the third time. It was first organized in 2014.
